We, The People, Support Immigration Control: Tell Congress To Defend And Fund ICE

To: The President of the United States, U.S. Congress, and Secretary of Homeland Security

We, the undersigned citizens and residents of the United States of America, believe that a safe, orderly society is built upon the foundation of the rule of law. We recognize that effective law enforcement agencies, including those tasked with securing our nation’s borders and enforcing immigration statutes passed by the U.S. Congress, are essential to maintaining public safety and national sovereignty.

Law enforcement agencies like ICE play a crucial role in removing individuals who pose a threat to our communities, including those with criminal records or ties to illicit organizations. Their work is vital for preventing serious crimes and enhancing national security.

We support an orderly and legal immigration system. ICE agents are tasked with enforcing the laws established by elected representatives to ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of that system.

We believe in the importance of fully supporting the men and women who serve in law enforcement across all levels of government, recognizing the sacrifices they make to protect our nation and its citizens.

Law enforcement is the means by which a democratic society ensures accountability. When laws are not enforced consistently, public trust and the democratic process itself are undermined.

We therefore urge our elected officials to immediately:

1)     Fully fund, support, and protect U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and all law enforcement agencies.

2)     Ensure that these agencies have the necessary resources, training, and legal authority to effectively and justly carry out their missions.

3)     Affirm the critical role law enforcement plays in upholding our nation’s laws and protecting our communities.
